Can’t Exit Screensaver Without Going “Home”

I’ve noticed a change in the way the Roku City screensaver behaves, and I’m hoping this is a bug and not a permanent design decision.

Until recently, if a show was paused and the screensaver kicked in, I could press almost any button on the remote—back, play, even the asterisk—and it would exit the screensaver and return to my paused show. Now the only button that exits the screensaver is “Home,” which kicks me all the way out of the app and forces me to re-navigate to what I was watching. This adds unnecessary steps and disrupts the experience, especially when I just want to resume a paused show after a short break.

The remote is fine, batteries are fresh, and I’ve checked for system updates. I want the previous behavior where basic remote input could dismiss the screensaver without exiting the app. It was far more intuitive and user-friendly.

The way it is now, it might as well just turn off because you can’t resume your show.
