Brand new Roku set up will not pair with remote

i have several Rokus and the set up has always been seamless.

my new ultra with voice and backlight remote will not pair. The box light goes to solid but then continues to flash and remote blinks but will not pair

    Thanks for reporting to us that your Roku Voice Remote (2nd edition) is not pairing with your Roku Ultra. No worries, we are here to assist.

    Let's see if this will work for you.

    1. Reboot your remote
      Press and hold the Back and the Home button for 20 seconds.
    2. Recharge your Roku Voice Remote Pro
    3. Reboot your streaming device
    4. Repair your voice remote to your streaming device
      Press and hold the Back       and Home 
       
       
       
      button for 5 seconds, or until you see the status light begin to flash

    When your streaming device finds your voice remote, an on-screen confirmation message will appear.
