I have Verizon Fios for internet and for my main TV (it has a set top box). I added the Fios TV Mobile App to my phone (Android and my husband's iphone 8). I want to be able to "cast" or "mirror" the Fios Channel I am watching on my phone to my older model Sharp TV. I bought the Roku Express 4k+. It does not offer an option to "pair". The remote works and I get channels but I cannot pair it to my phone (or my husband's). So I am not able to use the screen mirror option on the Fios TV Mobile app. Additionally, when I search my Bluetooth for available devices to pair, Roku does not show up.
So my original question still is, do I need to get a Roku Streambar? I am thinking the Roku Express 4k+ does not allow for casting/mirroring from the Fios TV App.
Thank you for responding....but I do not want to use my phone as a remote, I want to be able to watch Verizon Fios TV on my other TV using Roku.
Thank you.
KG11, I tried to explain it as completely as possible. You don't pair a phone to a Roku device for casting or mirroring. Read the link I gave. All Roku devices support it, but not everything can be mirrored or casted. Stop going down the Bluetooth path; it's a dead end for what you're trying to do.
A better question to ask your fellow users is whether any of them have successfully casted or mirrored the FIOS TV mobile app from a phone. Verizon may also have some insight.
