Bluetooth pairing during movie

I was engrossed in a program and half way through a message appeared on screen that said Bluetooth was pairing. I was not pairing so I'm wondering what caused this message. Shortly afterward there was a second pairing. The first would not allow me to stop or cancel the action. I did stop the second. Can anyone advise me please?

  • The Bluetooth pairing message could be triggered by nearby devices trying to connect to your Roku. Ensure your Bluetooth settings are secure by disconnecting unused devices or disabling pairing when not needed. If it persists, restart your Roku to refresh its connections.

What model Roku do you have? There's a couple that support pairing with Bluetooth headphones or speakers, and it might have detected such a device that had activated its pairing mode and your Roku picked it up. Bluetooth has a range of about 30 feet or so, so it's possible it received the pairing signal through a wall from somewhere else. The only Roku I have near me at the moment doesn't support BT, so I can't check the menu to see if you can disable listening for a BT pair request.

Thank you Dan. I turned my Bluetooth off for that tv the next morning when I saw that someone had enjoyed a few episodes of a series I was  watching. I was on 4 but next morning up to 8,had been seen. Being a technically challenged senior I decided to turn Bluetooth off.
