Blinking red light on roku tv when not connected to wifi
This is driving me nuts. The TV is working absaloutley fine. Everything is functioning normally. There is a red LED which blinks on the front of the set to indicate that there is no connection. But I dont need nor want it connected constantly. How can I make the blinking stop?
krunesa3 It’s called nagware. This practice is increasingly common in smart TVs and other Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Manufacturers often want devices to stay connected for various reasons:
1. Data collection and analytics
2. Pushing software updates
3. Enabling additional features or services
4. Advertising purposesYou can sometimes disable the blinking light by a network reset
Go to Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Network connection reset > Reset
If that doesn’t work, you might try Factory reset (warning this will reset your TV).
Or you can reduce the brightness of the blinking light by accessing hidden menu on your TV.
On Hisense Roku:
Press the following buttons on your remote in order: Home (5 times), then FF, Play, Rewind, Play, FF.
From the new menu, go to “Systems Operations Menu”, then “Display Menu”, and select “LED Brightness Menu”. Then reduce the value to 0 to turn off the LED. BadBuck This is useful for making the LED less bright when you use some tape.
If you don’t need the smart TV features, you can factory reset the TV and skip network setup during initial configuration. Though I’m not sure if it will sense this and keep the problem.
