This discussion thread is the very reason that I can not recommend ROKU devices to any of my clients. To be specific:
With software updates there appears to be no documentation, or even a clear statement of: what's new, what's fixed, what's removed, and what's still out standing. It just happens. Kind of a "trust us we know better." Even MS with its new direction every 6 months provides documentation For a vendor of a device that is software controlled to behave this way is really poor and sloppy business practice.
Now add to the above, the clear stalling and obfuscation of the "Community Moderators" one has clear evidence their game is stall, place burden on the user, rinse, and repeat.
When comments are marked "solved" by other than the OP, WTX
JBTipton I feel your anger, for I too have been having other issues with Roku devices.
It is a real shame (or is it a sham), as the Roku concept and published feature set are great. It just seems the company is poorly managed.
Too bad, as it doesn't have to be this way.

As others have said, this is very annoying and needs to be resolved ASAP.

In the past there was an option that would allow you to set to allow manual movement of those apps and they would remain there forever. Now when you move in app they get rearranged in the future based upon usage. So yes you can move it but then it's going to be moved around automatically by the Roku software. So the option to lock that screen where things do not move are no longer available those have been removed after the last update

Fix this bug, both my tvs are doing this now and adding apps I didn't want. So annoying

They are not reappearing. What they are doing is rearranging. The option to manually arrange them with the way I would like them is now missing. And it looks like it's trying to rearrange these by whatever we used last. But that means things are always in a different place and we've lost the ability to control where these apps land and remain
- SDHamNewbie
Yes, same issue. The time size option disappeared with 14.6 version AND a could of my apps got moved away when the list, so I had to nice them back to the top, mainly YouTube TV

Welcome, SDHam
If we understand correctly, you're facing the same issue where the Tile size option is missing, and your apps, like YouTube TV, were rearranged after the update. Could you provide your device details so we can take a closer look?
- Roku device Software and Build version (It can be found in Settings > System > About)
- Tracker ID (Press Home five times, then press Back button five times when the issue occurs)
Let us know when you can!

All my apps were fine, till today. The option in Layout for automatic or manual is gone. There is no option for Quick Access. Under Layout your only two options are Recommendatin Rows and Tile Size.
These are also missing off our 3930X - Roku Express. Its info below as well.

I am having the same issue reported by other users in this thread of apps rearranging themselves. There is no “quick access” option. Per this discussion the issue has been reported under case number 13065587. Do you need my tv specs (model number, device id, etc.?) I’m looking forward to a quick resolution. Thank you.

Hey everyone!
Quick update: The behavior you might be experiencing is the new feature, quick access, which will give quick access to apps that are used more often. You can turn this one off in Settings > Homescreen > Quick access.
Otherwise, if the issue persists, it would be good to get a video of the exact behavior of the issue so we can take a closer look.
Let us know what you find!

Thanx I'll check Settings > Homescreen > Quick access and turn off Quick access.
No video needed if this happens again.
I'll know that it's still a problem if I turn on my TV and my apps are not where I put them. (the original complaint, remember?)
- JBTiptonChannel Surfer
One teeny tiny little problem:
THERE IS NO "QUICK ACCESS" OPTION IN Settings>Homescreen>.
Only options on my Home Screen settings are:
Recommendations Rows
Tile Size
Live TV
What To Watch
Sports
Daily Trivia
Featured Free
Shortcuts

Having the same issue with our RokuTV. Started to happen in the beginning of October. Second guessing myself for going with a RokuTV.

Hey! JuztFJ
We understand your Home screen apps have been rearranged, and we'd like to know more.
Did this happen after an update? If so, sharing the latest software version of the Roku device would help us look into it more. (You can find this on Settings > System > About.)
We hope to hear from you soon!

Software was updated to version 15.0.4 build 5531-51 on 10/1/25. Unwanted app rearrangement occurred 10/3/25. Problem appears to be the elimination of an option in the Home Screen preferences. In previous software versions there was an option titled "App Order" in which a user could select "Manual" arrangement for apps to prevent an unwanted rearrangement of home screen app order. This option is missing from my other Roku unit as well running version 14.6 updated 7/2/25. However this unit running 14.6 has not had it's app order changed. This issue has been reported to Roku support with case #13065587.
