This thread has been going on for a month now with NO help! I called Roku yesterday and after waiting 2 hours to talk to someone I still have no resolution or even just any kind of answer!! I also tried the Chat and that was a joke too! Buying these cameras is a major mistake and I am going back to Ring cameras.
This so called "support" is worse than dealing with Amazon! How can I not have any answer at all??????
Good luck Hinave123

Hey Geauga
Update regarding this issue: the recording behavior is functioning as designed — it adjusts based on movement in the frame. Even a brief pause can cause the recording to stop. At this time, everything appears to be working as expected. If you have any further inquiries, let us know!

After waiting on hold for hours and being passed around with Roku Support on the phone I finally talked to someone that would listen and understand. Unfortunately these outdoor camera model without the SD card will not do any longer videos. Even when motion continues which is what I have been asking about the whole time!
There is none of this mentioned in the advertisement or on the Roku website when you look at the outdoor cameras. So basically al the cameras I have are worthless to me. Would have been nice to know before I bout 7 of these things.
Roku will NOT help me with any exchange or any kind of credit for other cameras. I will be going back to RING and cancelling my Roku subscription

Hey Geauga Hinave123
Heads up. The recording time shifts based on motion in the frame—even a quick pause can stop it. Right now, it’s behaving as expected. We’ll treat this as feedback and follow up if anything changes.
Let us know if you have questions!

As it says in my previous posts, the motion does continue but the recording stops. So there is still motion happening, but the cameras stop recording. This is not just one of my cameras, it’s happening on all of them. They all do the same thing.

After about 20 seconds of recording it does not record again until maybe 30 seconds later sometimes not at all, even it there is movement.
But why does it stop recording even if there is movement?

Thanks for the extra details! Geauga
If your outdoor wired camera is only recording short bursts and missing movement, there are a few things worth looking into.
Here's what you can try:
- Adjust the Detection Settings (Go to Home, select Camera, tap Settings, and tap Detection settings)
- Turn detection sensitivity to 100 and adjust as needed.
- Change the recording cooldown (Go to Home, select Camera > Settings > Event recording under Recording Settings, tap Recording cooldown, choose the cooldown interval, and select Save.
- Check for firmware updates.
- Ensure stable power and internet connection.
For more tips, check it out here. Hope this helps!

- Detection settings were already adjusted in both directions, no change
- Recording Cooldown?? Not sure what that is and none of my cameras have that nor do they have "Event Recording" under "Settings"
- There are no updates available
- Internet and power are stable
If these cameras detect motion how long are they supposed to record for? What is there is infinite amount of motion?
Everything is very vague about these cameras. There is no real user guide or no clear answers. I have 7 of these cameras and hate to have to change them all to another brand if this cant change

Welcome Geauga
We noticed you have a question about how your Outdoor Battery Camera records events. It seems your camera only records for 20 seconds at a time—let’s take a closer look at why that might be happening.
Can you describe what happens after the camera records an event for around 20 seconds? Quick note: For as long as the camera is connected to power, the camera will only stop recording if there is no motion detected.
Looking forward to your reply!
