Outdoor Camera live feed freezes

My wired outdoor camera records events and works just fine but for the last few days when I go to the live feed it's frozen. Sometimes a second or two passes on the time first but then it freezes every time I try to watch it. It's really the only reason I even use it now so it's absolutely worthless to t at this point. If it's not fixed soon I'll be buying a different brand of camera.

    Hi Fiero1985,

We understand that you're having trouble with the Roku Wired Outdoor Camera live feed that freezes. No worries, we're here to help.

We'd like to know the following:

    • When did it start?
    • Are there any errors?
    • Have you updated the Roku Smart Home app? If so, what version do you have? If not, try updating it.
    • Did this happen only with this camera or with the other one too?

    Looking forward to your reply.

I am having a similar problem I have 2 CS1000X cameras.  Both of them are setup within a few feet of one another.  (chicken coop safety).  I was having this issue that both were working, but only showing 1 second of live then they would freeze.  if I refreshed the feed it would update and grab another second of video then freeze again.  I thought it was a Wi-Fi issue so i added in a mesh node 10 feet from the cameras that is hard wired in so i am getting full signal strength.  Now The one inside the structure plays live fine, but the one outside is giving me the same issue.  it plays for one second then freezes.  I have updated the firmware to the latest. And I have tried on multiple devices (2 phones and several pc's) and the result is the same.  I have updated the app to the latest and I have reinstalled it several times.  i cant figure out why 1 works and the other freezes.  so I went back to my local retailer and exchanged the camera that was locking up, installed it and it worked fine....until the firmware upgraded.  Now it is doing the same thing.  it is only the one camera.  this camera is actually closer to the access point than the one that is not freezing.  I really want to like this product, but cant figure out this issue

        Hi XscarfX

Thanks for letting us know about this concern with the Roku camera.

To get started, please let us know what error code you see before it freezes. In the meantime, please try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

        1. Restart your internet router
        2. Disconnect the other devices connected to the network before connecting the camera back to the in-home WiFi.

Hope this helps, and keep us posted on the result.

        Cheers,
        Roku Community Team
