Indoor Roku camera is too bright

  • My screen is too bright
  • Hi Oliver12,

    Welcome to the Roku Community!

    We appreciate you letting us know that your phone screen is too bright when you're using your Roku Smart Home app. We'd be more than happy to assist you.

    Before we proceed, we would like to know the following details below:

    • When did this issue start?
    • Does it happen when you open the Roku Smart Home app, when you view the live stream or when viewing event recordings?
    • Does this issue occur with only one Roku camera or all of your Roku cameras?

    In the meantime, we recommend you try the following:

    • Uninstall the Roku Smart Home app
    • Adjust the brightness of your mobile device
    • Take a moment to inspect the placement of your camera. It is possible that it is situated in a location with excessive brightness, which could affect the quality of the captured images and recordings.

      Issue started about a week ago. 

      happens on live stream 

      happens on the Roku camera app on my tv. 
      and our iPhones.

        Thank you for the response!

        We recommend that you take a moment to look at where your camera is placed. If it’s set up in a spot with too much light, like next to a bright window or under a strong light, it might affect how clear your pictures and videos are. Finding a balanced location with good light can really help improve your recordings.

        Also, we suggest that you try to restart the camera by following the steps below: 

        1. Unplug the USB cable from the back of your camera
        2. Wait 10 seconds
        3. Plug the USB cable back into the power input port on your camera
