Home Assistant integration / other home automation systems broken

Some of the functionality of the Home Assistant integration has been lost.  It looks like users of other home automation systems (google, apple, are also reporting reduced functionality.  Does anyone know if Roku is limiting access to its system to force users to their own system and buying their bulbs, cameras, etc?  In other words, to salvage the investment in time and money in my existing system, is it time to buy another brand of television?

I took the bait and tried to recover some of the functionality by downloading their Roku Smart Home app and it did not even recognize the TVs, so none of this makes much sense.

The Roku smart home app is only for their "smart" home products.  It has nothing to do with Roku streaming devices or TVs.

I don't think Roku has any interest in other home automation systems.
