Expand Local Storage for Roku Smart Home Devices using 3.2TB NVMe SSD (2.5-Inch)

Hi everyone,

I'm exploring ways to improve storage and local recording for my Roku smart home setup, particularly for video footage from cameras and doorbells. I recently got my hands on a 3.2TB NVMe SSD (2.5-inch form factor) and was wondering:

Is there any way to use this drive for local storage with Roku smart home devices, either directly or via a hub?
Has anyone successfully integrated high-capacity SSDs like this with their Roku system for video or data retention?
Would using such an SSD bring noticeable speed or reliability benefits over standard external drives?

Thanks in advance for your insights!

    Hi, xosotat358

    Thanks for posting!

We get that you want to expand the storage for Roku Smart Home Devices with a 3.2TB NVMe SSD.

Please be aware that our Smart home devices exclusively record to the cloud for the subscription. The older model cameras had the option to use a micro SD card, and that's it.
