Doorbell camera has stopped taking video
My doorbell camera has stopped taking video only pictures what do I do
Hi Dmyers84,
Welcome to the Roku Community!
Thank you for letting us know about your concern with the Roku Video doorbell, which does not record video events. No worries; we are more than happy to assist you with this concern.
One of the most common reasons your Roku Video doorbell is not recording video is the absence of an active subscription. I recommend double-checking your Roku account to verify the status of your subscription to Roku Smart Home Cameras. If you do not have an active subscription, kindly follow the step-by-step process on how to purchase a Roku camera subscription:
- Using your phone or computer, open our Roku Store website: Roku Smart Home Subscription
- You will see the features available with or without a subscription and the pricing
- Underneath the pricing is the "Subscribe now" button
- You will need to sign in with your Roku account to continue purchasing a subscription.
For reference, you can visit this support article: How to sign up for and manage a Roku Smart Home Subscription for cameras & doorbells
If the subscription is active, kindly follow these troubleshooting steps:
- Check if there's a live stream on your Roku Video Doorbell: How to view a live video stream from your Roku Smart Home camera or video doorbell
- Check detection settings: How to use smart detection for your Roku Smart Home camera or video doorbell (Roku Smart Home Cameras and Doorbell will only record if there is a motion detected.)
- Uninstall the Roku Smart Home app and install it again.
Please let us know if the issue is fixed or reply back to the thread for further assistance, we will be glad to help you.
Regards,
Riamie
