Camera not recording sound

I have an indoor Roku se camera. If the camera naturally notices movement or sound it will record both sound and picture. However whenever I go into the app and manually hit the record button it will not record any audio, it only records the picture. It used to record both when I would manually press record but now it only records the image whenever I manually hit record in the app. 

Also says there’s a firmware update but refuses to update. It’s currently on 6.1.0 build 48-FD not sure if that’s the newest or not.

    We suggest you try to install the Roku Smart Home app on another mobile device and log in with the same Roku account credentials. Then, try to record the event manually from your Roku Indoor camera and see if the same issue occurs. Also, make sure that your device is not muted.

  • Hello I’m in need of some help! I have a Roku camera. When I record videos from the smart home app to my photos for some reason it’s automatically muted and I can’t seem to find out why? While it’s recording I can hear the tv but when I play it back it’s muted.

      1. Install the Roku Smart Home app on another mobile device.
      2. Login with the same Roku account credentials you use on your Roku camera.
      3. Record an event manually and see if the same issue occurs.

  • Do the cameras not record sound when someone manually records a video? Like not an alert, but say if I go to the camera and record a dog barking manually, how do I get it to record sound?

      We would be more than willing to provide you with further details about your concern with the Roku camera manual recording.

      Your Roku cameras should record audio when you try to manually record the event through the Roku Smart Home app. If your cameras are not recording when manually recording, we suggest you try the following troubleshooting step that we have provided above and if the issue persists, please provide us with the following details below:

      • Make and model of the mobile device you are using.
      • A version of the Roku Smart Home app
      • Log ID: (pull up your Roku Smart Home app home page > select Account > Roku Support > Submit a Log)

        I did. The number provided from sending the log is 50-316-962, I have an iPhone 15, and the version of the app says 3.1.1. Anh other information needed let me know
