Where do compile errors dissappear to in the console

In eclipse plugin, I use the export shortcut key to export my app to Roku. It's fairly decent - packages, deploys, runs the app and telnets into the debug port.

However sometimes when there's a compile error in xml it shows up the error for a fraction of a second, then clears the console.. wth is that? how can I :

a. Stop it happening
or
b. Get the errors that popped up and dissappeared?

ah - figured it out - have to disconnect and reconnect. any way to avoid that annoyance?
