FWIW, you can go higher bitrate than that. 4.5mbps is probably about the recommended limit for streamed items, though you'd probably want to be careful on your peak bitrate settings. Of course, if you're providing an encoding that high of bitrate, you should provide lower bitrate options for viewers with slower connections.
