Video Tutorials for explaining how to create applications

Hello everyone, I am in the process of designing a website and application however before I continue with this project I need to know if this is something that you all are interest in.

The tutorial will be videos that explain each component and how to build applications of of each component.
I have designed an application for Windows users that will allow you to build and modify the example applications Roku provided in the SDK.

I currently have questions about the BrightScript language so if you see me ask questions in the form these question are basic of problems that I have with the software.

If you are interested in watching, or posting videos to get an understanding how to use the BrightScript language to create application let me know and I will create a website If you are interested in helping me developing the application Roku App Builder please contact me by email. jseigle85@yahoo.com I respond to email. within 45 minutes of receiving them.

Is this going to be free or are there going to be ads?
  • Currently it is going to be free, however if ad's is something you would like added in the video tutorials I will consider add the feature. Please allow me into Saturday 14, 2011 I will have the website lunched
  • I would LOVE to have a site with good, step by step tutorials. And if there is an app that simplifies the building of Brightscript apps, I'm 100% for that! Apple has proven that the key to success for a device is to have an app store with a bounty of apps people can get. But for the love of all that is holy, you have to make creating those apps simple enough that you can attract new developers (like myself) as well as more experienced ones.

Right now, my biggest complaint is that the learning curve for Brightscript is so steep and is not the least bit intuitive.
  • this is a good idea. It might be cool if you make it an actual roku channel so we can watch the videos on the tv and be at our computers following the tutorials along too. 🙂
