VidCura, a Roku CMS (http://vidcura.com)

Hi,

We are very excited to launch VidCura, a Roku CMS. The objective with the launch of VidCura is to enable anyone to build a Roku channel without requiring the need to know and understand (BrightScript) programming. Everything is done via the use of web interfaces. As with any content management system, we have dedicated a lot of effort to making the experience of the user as painless as possible. We believe that many more Roku channels can be created as long as it is easy to do so. Unfortunately, and despite its ease of use, many are not willing to dedicate hours to understand the intricacies of a programming language. For those who are curious to see an example of channel built with VidCura, you should check 365NG.tv (https://owner.roku.com/add/365NGTV).

The link is: http://vidcura.com

Thank you.

How can anyone learn when your license terms prohibit anyone from modifying your generated code? Or maybe that's the point - they don't want to learn so they will use your one-size-fits-all shoebox code generator to make their free channel, generate advertising for your product, and then you can slap them with your channel developer fee to get a customized solution they want?
  • I tried the channel and it is too basic. Lets see all the other features the CMS can give. It should have been in the Channel Demo already. Where is the Banner Ad? Where is other video content, where is category Leafs, where is Audio Playback, where is a Photo Browser, where is Episodes? Where is an About Us paragraph screen, ect....

All of this should be in the Demo Channel before people will use it I believe. Just my thoughts here.
