USB Media player to Watched status

Outstanding USB Browser that shows the whole file name!!
How about putting Content Meta-Data Watched and Bookmark position into a log on the usb device (a hard drive) in my case.
It would enormously help the management of the videos.
I'm thinking adding a event handler to append to a file on the USB? But have not found a sample to Write to a USB file.
How could this be added to the Video Control Script or the USB play sample in the SDK?
