  • I know a number of people had has success with Inlet encoders, that may be a good place to start.
  • HI,

  • I have been using FFMPEG, to generate HLS streaming content directly as specified right out of the Roku encoding guide. I have been having incredible problems and can't get any reliable video at all. (All these videos play on Boxee and iOS).

In short - I think Roku devices are very very picky about the video encoding - enough so that I haven't been able to effectively work with them.

VLC most works for HLS on the Roku. We did some pretty extensive testing with it, however, it proved to be unstable enough that a commercial encoder was worth the cost.

We use adobe media encoder. works great.

    Hi uarlive,

Do you have some suggestions for good settings for hd 720 and 1080p, sd 4:3 and 16:9 for the adobe encoder?

  • Hi,
    First all thank you everyone.
I have a question about media encoder, did you use just media encoder or do you need the adobe media encoder to stream on Roku.
    Thank you.

Now I am using the Vlc works fine but it is not perfect.
