I noticed that the compiler is more strict, apps that worked on 7.7 now fail to load.

There may be initial rollout.
Please be (more) specific, guys - so we can look into it - what's breaking, how's breaking, what's compiler being severe about etc

initial rollout on Roku 2XD, Roku3, Roku4, Express, UIltra probably more, all on Friday!
I told you about the "ALLEGED" GC issue and we have an official ticket about it. Meanwhile our build that fixes the issue has been stuck in cert for issues happening only on devices discontinued almost 5 years ago.  PM me if you'd like the repro steps to see the alleged GC issues on our production app.
