Support for HLS/DASH content steering
Content steering is a new feature of both HLS and DASH standards, allowing streaming content to be routed through multiple CDNs. It is useful for redundancy/failover, load balancing, QOE/QOS optimizations, etc. Most HLS and DASH players already support it. The relevant specifications/resources are:
- HLS Content Steering Specification (v1.2b1)
- DASH-IF Content Steering (CTS Version 0.9.0)
- DASH-IF reference stream / demo
The question/ask: is there any chance support for it can be added to Roku players?
