Shopping & transactions

Hey all,

I'm not a developer (more of a product manager), but have seen Amazon's new shopping channel on Roku. You can't actually checkout - you choose an item and email it to yourself so you can finish the transaction online. Obviously, there are some issues or lack of capability that prevents the A-to-Z experience all on Roku. Does anyone know or think that this will eventually be overcome? What exactly are the obstacles?

    you can buy Amazon videos online using the PIN #, so there is a mechanism that you can work with to create an in-app purchase system.

    Wouldn't be too hard to use SSL Url's to pass a creditcard # and expiration date to any service that provides an API and complete a purchase.
