promo codes, give free subscriptions

Is it possible to give out free subscriptions for a ROKU channel set up for monthly subscriptions? I want to give away subscriptions as promos, and to reviewers, etc.  

The last post I saw on this topic was from 2011 when a ROKU rep said they were "working on it."  I've scoured the boards and can't find an answer.
