Porting Android Streaming App to Roku

Hello everyone;

We have an Android channel streaming application that we would like to port to Roku. What would be the best course of action to do this: develop a Roku app, or develop a custom Roku channel for each stream in the app?

The app has some security features for the streams such as time-limited verification tokens, can Brightscript accomodate such requirements?
