Help connecting to developer program

https://www.howtogeek.com/290787/how-to-enable-developer-mode-and-sideload-roku-apps/

Step One - Done
Step Two - Failed to connect

"Step Two: Access Developer Mode

On a computer connected to the same network as your Roku, open your web browser. Paste the IP address you wrote down earlier in the URL bar, then hit Enter, and you’ll be asked for your username and password."

So I got the code it was http://192.168.2.11
When I entered that into the URL box on Chrome it reads:

"This site can’t be reached

192.168.2.11 took too long to respond."

Anyone have any suggestions...?

My Roku is with an ethernet cable connected to a router

Enabling developer mode requires the box to reboot, so it may have been given a new IP address by your router. Go into Settings->Network->About to see what IP address your box has and put that address into the URL bar.

  • Yes you were right, there was a new IP address...  but sadly it did not connect either.  Here is a rookie question?  Can someone be watching the ROKU while I am trying to connect?  It is always on in our house.  Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks!
