In the source code there is no manifest file, the software generates a manifest file!
If you contact me I can send you a copy ,

YES. There's a good amount of support there too. Just moved from DP using it last month.

All support is done on the Github page!

Roku's converter doesn't work for us - our channel is more than 500kb.
As for this tool, I'm on a Mac, but when I downloaded the source code on GitHub, there didn't seem to be a place to input our JSON feed url.
Did I miss it?
Thanks. This is so frustrating. We've been on Roku for almost 15 years and dealt with their constant, "now you need to change everything," that they keep doing. Now it feels like they're forcing us to go back to what they made us change to go onto Direct Publisher. Is it just me?

ferdiworks, You're the best!

genepensiero , biblestudywvbs to "lift" the 500kb limit go into Components - content and open the RootHandler.brs with an editor .... you'll find the settings there - just make the limit bigger 🙂

@ RCDev
There is no Roothandler file in the DP to Scenegraph software output package files!
However if your refering to The Template that Roku is telling everyone to use then yes there is a Root handler file and it can be edited! But be advised that the Roku template in my opinon has many issues and after testing and using the DP to Scenegraph software tool found it to be an excellent starting point for anyone wanting to convert a channel to SDK before loosing it in Jan 2024 if you cannot hire a developer or don't have the budget too!
Also The Template edits posted by Phlume of the Roku template has a Root Handler file that can be edited and has neen tested and found to be working but does not parse categories except for one line Shortform, series, movies but it also can have many issues to get it to work right if your not familar to code editing!
As always please direct any questions on The Direct Publisher to Scenegraph Software tool to the Creator Baradanikto

Thanks for that tip, RCDev.
By the way, after working with the files ferdiworks shared, I have succesfully had my channel approved and published.
Many, many thanks to ferdiworks and this community!

When adding the new zip file to the Roku dev environment, after the splash screen appears, I get a "Please wait. Loading. . ." message that doesn't go away. The splash screen, background image, topper image, and Roku home page images all load correctly.
This happens on the two channels I've tested this on.
What should I do?
- Baradanikto3 years agoRoku Guru
First, you should not post questions or issues here as I asked in my original post.
Second, make sure you have an up to date version of the tool. There have been many releases as the tool is further developed.
If you still have an issue, please go to the GitHub site to discuss.

Hi and welcome.
Baradanikto is correct as he is the developer of the software and asks all to come by Github for support and use of the software.I Have found that the issue you are referring to happens when the template is trying to load the feed, this can occur for many reasons for example too much data in the feed, Scenegraph SDK templates should not be more than 500 MB of data, and while some can get away with pushing the limits having too many videos in feed, the type of videos in the feed, the Video providers bandwidth and server can slow loading and many other reasons. The main thing is to check your feed for category tags. Quires and/or playlist tags. check video links to ensure they play in the browser as bad video or image links can cause issues. Note that the feed format and code are important as some use JSON feeds, some use MRSS feeds and some use both! The type of Video you use such as short-form video, Movies, Series and episodes, or tvSpecials, and the length of video over 15 minutes can determine the time it loads as well. - podworx3 years agoStreaming Star
Whoops, sorry about that. I've posted on Github.

Thanks for this info. All the feeds are properly formatted, as far as I can tell. They've been used on DP-based Roku channels for years.
One interesting (ie; scary) observation; all my active channels have not gone down. After getting pass the splash screen, the screen flickers a few times (with ghosted images of where the videos would be) and then only shows the Search and About options.

I understand what you are saying, You need to convert over to SDK either way. You can send me the feed link to look at if you like. I look at the get hub post!
The software should work for you as long as the feed is good and has the proper category tags!

Hello, not sure if I post here or github but my question is, how updated is the Wizard output SG channel? Does it pass current channel certification with deep linking and all? Thanks

I'm working off a Mac so I can't run the software. Can anyone post a copy of their SDK file that I could edit for my own channel?
- Baradanikto2 years agoRoku Guru
johnary I have at least one user that I believe is running the software on a Mac by setting up a virtual machine on Amazon.
adamesq Can you help?
- johnary2 years agoStreaming Star
I appreciate all the help you've provided to other amateur Roku developers like me on this message board. Thanks!

Hi @johnary - I'm on a Mac. I'm in the middle of packing for a big move, but saw the tag from Baradanikto and didn't want to leave you hanging. Yes, I successfully switched over to SG with Baradanikto's tools going this route!!!😃👏🏻🙏🏻
I set up a Virtual Machine on Amazon AWS Free Tier to create a virtual console Windows instance (via their EC2 dashboard). It takes some patience if you've never done it, but probably all-in around an hour since you know where to look now. In hindsight...and looking forward, I might consider just getting a Mini PC so I don't need deal with virtual and remote login, but it will definitely work. Here are 2 videos I looked at that will help:

There are instructions to walk you through it there and on YT. You'll want to use Microsoft Remote Desktop app for the Mac to connect. It works fine, although a little slow due to the remote.
