Customizing HDMI Input Channel

Hi Roku Developer community,

 

I want to customize one of the existing input channels, (i.e. HDMI) to be able to mirror what is being shown on the Roku TV to a device that is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

 

I see that it is possible to create custom channels. Can I customize existing channels, particularly the input channels?

 

If this is possible, please let me know how. To clarify about my goal, I do not want to mirror content on my phone to the TV. I want to mirror content on the TV to my phone (or laptop).

    No, it is not possible for a Roku channel to capture the HDMI input.  There are no system interfaces to do that, and that could violate HDCP licensing if the content was protected.
