    NO...You dont have to give a credit card to sign up your Roku box. And after a while, if you feel like subscribing to a channel, but either your CC is expired, or your paypal account has changed, that will require you to have to login to change their account settings. Since the average user doesnt regularly log into their Roku account, not remembering how to do so may dissuade them from trying. Hopefully, this spells the reason out for everyone.
