Wireless Speakers stuck in updating error

For me the speakers seem to connect but then goes to update and stays there till they timeout. The speakers never update so can't be fully paired to use. This happened last night when we tried to connect to new tv since old stopped working.

  • We tried for 5 hours last night to connect my speakers. only the soundbar and subwoofer would connect, the 4 speakers won’t. I contacted help through your chat system and he couldn’t help me so I was transferred to a specialist after however long chatting she asked for my phone number to call me, she said she was going to call and never did! I have the copy of our chat. This whole system hooked up previously but now I have reset everything and the speakers Will Not Connect!

  • I am an unfortunate victim of this update now.  Had to replace my tv and when trying to reconnect to my new Hisense 58" Roku tv it stalls out every-time during the "Updating Speakers" process.  Also only one speaker tells you how to pair etc.  Although all three have power showing on and I have unplugged, reset and tried everything.

Hello, I'm caught in the same never ending speaker update loop. I have 4 wireless speakers, 2 are working fine and 2 are caught in the update loop. My subwoofer is also receiving the same update loop and these three never complete the setup process. I have tried factory reset at the Roku level and at the speaker level, nothing works. My ONN  Roku TV software is up to date. Nothing resolves the issue.

So as an 11 year Roku member I have to say that I am most likely switching to Amazon Fire platform.  I see nothing on this support site saying that all of our messages and error codes and pictures and for what.  We still have no sound from our speakers which were not inexpensive for what they are.  So what am I supposed to do, buy another tv and speaker system because Roku screwed everything up with a software update?  Fix the **bleep** issues so we can enjoy what we PAID for!!  Not one resolved case here and nothing but we "are working on it" this is comical at best.

I have the same issue. Worked fine for years. Had to reconnect it. Stuck on updating soundbar. Then just says unable to pair. Tried it multiple times after factory reset on multiple TVs. Tsr1 North America.

      Hi there! ccm01

You mentioned you have been experiencing this issue, and to help us investigate, could you please share the details requested above?

In the meantime, try unplugging the Roku soundbar and plugging it back in after several seconds, and see if that helps.

We hope to hear from you soon!
