Wireless headphones and tv speakers at same time

I need to listen to the Roku tv and wireless headphones at the same time.

  • Welcome, Shelbi!

Thanks for sharing it here in the Roku Community!

We understand you wanted to use the wireless headphones and TV speakers simultaneously.

Please note that when you switch to Headphones mode on your TV, the built-in speakers will automatically turn off. This means that all audio will exclusively be routed through the headphones, allowing for a private listening experience without any sound coming from the TV itself.

For more information about this, visit this support article: How to use Bluetooth headphones for Headphone Mode on your Roku streaming device.

Please let us know if you need more help.

    All the best,
    Emman

  • Hi, mparks48

Thanks for posting, and welcome to the Roku Community.

We understand your inquiry regarding the audio set-up of the Roku TV and the Wireless Headphones, specifically allowing the TV's built-in speakers while the Headphones mode is active.

As advised by @RokuEmmanuel-D, the TV speakers will be disabled when the Headphone mode is active while using Wireless Headphones.

We hope for your understanding regarding this matter.

Let us know if you have further concerns or inquiries. We're here to help.

    Best wishes,
    Kash

I have the same issue. The wireless headset is need for a person with a hearing handicap however the rest of the family would like to be able to watch the TV at the same time. Is there any way around having the tv speakers turn off. This would be a good option to add.

Please add the option to use both the built in speakers and headphones. I have hearing loss and 6 Roku TVs. This would be so helpful.
