Suddenly no sound from soundbar, HDMI ARC and CEC stopped working

I have given up hope Roku will even get this fixed.  I've had no luck in getting my TV/Soundbar/Roku working with the Roku Ultra LT (4801RW) installed. It's been about 2.5 years waiting and hoping it would eventually work with the latest update, but no go.  

When I have the LT installed and updated to the latest Firmware I don't get any sound out of my soundbar (Yamaha) which is connected through an HDMI Arc port on the TV. 

Fortunately, when I install my older Roku Ultra (4670X), the TV/Soundbar/Roku all work.  So I'll just keep that installed and use the Roku Ultra LT on another TV.

  • The problem is with the Roku app, not your soundbar or TV manufacturer. The workaround is to ONLY plug your soundbar directly into your TV. All other devices should be plugged into your soundbar if you have available inputs. That solution worked for me almost a year ago, and I no longer experience sound problems.

    Roku is not fixing anything until they update their app. They apparently don't recognize it as their problem to fix.

      Thank you for this…(for me anyway) I have the Roku Soundbar so it’s already plugged directly into my TV 😕
