Samsung sound bar not recognized?

I have just received and installed the Roku Stick. Setup went fine until the step where it tried to sync up with my Samsung sound bar - it kept asking "Can You still hear the music?" and I kept answering "Yes," because I could. It responded by incrementing to the next setting, "Trying setting 02" an repeating the question. We kept going around in circles until it got to setting 10 and I figured this wasn't getting anywhere.

The result is that the Roku Remote controls the internal speaker on my Samsung TV.  I have the sound bar because the internal speaker sucks. But the Remote will NOT find, nor control the volume/mute on my sound bar.   How do I get this back?
