  • Hello! Louinma,

Thanks for your post in the Roku Community!

We appreciate your contacting us regarding your inquiry about adding a Roku Soundbar to your Roku Ultra. We are pleased to assist you.

You can add the Roku Soundbar to your Roku Ultra as an audio output setup for surround sound.

Your Roku streaming player is available in stereo; however, some are also available in surround sound. Although most Roku streaming players do not decode surround sound formats such as Dolby Digital Plus or DTS, they can pass through the signal to an audio/video receiver (AVR), soundbar, or TV capable of decoding surround sound.

For more detailed information, please see this article: How to set up your Roku streaming player for surround sound.

    Thanks,

You can't  connect the ultra to the soundbar directly, nor the soundbar to the ultra directly. Each will be connected to a TV, ultra to one hdmi port. The Soundbar to either hdmi-arc port or a combination of hdmi plus an optical port. If the Roku Soundbar is the Streambar SE, it's remote would control both Roku's at the same time. Since it IR only.

If you just want the Roku soundbar for better sound from the tv, after it's setup put the Roku soyndbar remote away for good. Just use the ultras remote for the ultra, since it's wifi it will only control one Roku at a time.
