Hi everyone, has this issue been solved? I also have a static / crackling sound once in a while. I've tried everything...
- Resetting the soundbar
- Updating the soundbar
- Using different HDMI cable
- Using an optical cable
- Using different modes and settings (Roku soundbar)
- Trying different things on the TV
The only thing that resolves the problem is turning the bass all the way down. Obviously this impacts the overall quality of the sound and defeats the purpose why I bought a sound bar in the first place.

I bought my first Roku Soundbar in January 2021, after 3 months it started crackling. I contacted Roku Tech support and they asked me to return it to Amazon, get reimbursed and buy another one. I did it that way, purchased a new one on May 2021 and it started crackling again last month (October 2023). Got in touch with Roku Tech support and they said, it seems to us it´s broken, buy a new one. That simple, they don´t care about customers.
This said, should I buy a new one?... What would you do?

Thank you very much Arjiemar... My Tech Support Ticket is #8282873, if you want me to forward all communications to you or post them here... Just let me know. The representative was: JV/MX-Wilberto Dimas Canales.
I´m so disappointed and upset with the solution I was given that I was really considering posting the answer received from Tech Support in LinkedIn tagging your C-Suite.
Looking forward to your help, thank you very much again.

I have similar issue. Audio is distorted. I noticed there was a thread from 2021-2023. Replies I saw simply suggested doing "reset, change cables, update ...". In other words, same suggestions which I sure these users had already tried.

Are you able to reproduce this?
Those are the important questions to answer. If you don't acknowledge the issue, it's unlikely Roku is working to fix it.

Hello Chel,
The audio issues started several weeks ago. I've tried replacing all cables and restarted the system by unplugging from the wall and waiting 30 seconds before restarting. The lights are working as normal and navigation and remote seem to be working fine.
Please advise on how to proceed.
Thank you,
Bruce Warren

Has anybody actually gotten a response from Roku that fixes this issue?
I have the same issue, and it seems to have been an issue for a few years now from other posts I have encountered.
It sounds like a speaker (or speakers) have blown in a Streambar
I found a lot of complaints when I Googled 'How to Replace Speakers in a Roku Streambar'.
Just wondering if there is a real response besides, "I'll be able to pass it along to our Support team, who can assist you further."- RokuJohnBCommunity Moderator

Hello Roku.
I've done everything you've ask including a video of the crackling sound and you have not provided a solution.
This issue is not unique to just me. I've received numerous responses to this post complaining of the same issue.
How long am I suppose to do this when the most recent software update (installed Jan 26)failed to resolve the issue.
All I did was purchase your product and todate I've not been able to enjoy it.
Regards.

It started Thursday night while watching Hulu. I thought it was part of the show but when it wouldn’t go away I tried a different app and it was the same, a crackling sound as if the speaker on the right side was blown. I did a restart, changed out arc cable and HDMI cable but had the same result. The crackle isn’t as noticeable with normal television like the nightly news but when a show or movie with bass or louder noises, it’s very loud.

Sound quality is always hit or miss with my streambar. Goes in and out, screeching noises, out of sync, you name it. Kinda ridiculous since this thing is barely 2 years old. Serial #: YL003F074121
Trying this forum first, then I’ll be calling customer service if this doesn’t get resolved.

Recently my Roku Streambar has started having a constant crackling/staticky sound and the volume seems to fade in and out on its own. I am always chasing the volume around and the crackling is driving me crazy. I’ve checked the connections, replaced the HDMI cable, restarted the Roku, factory resettled the Roku, nothing has worked. I’m at my wits end but I can’t continuing to listen like this. Please help!

Hi brandrsn,
Thanks for bringing this concern to our attention. We're sorry for this experience.
For our last option in an attempt to resolve this issue, would you mind trying to connect this device to an alternative network such a sa mobile hospot?
Let us know if there will be a difference.

Janadee- brandrsnChannel Surfer
Hi Janadee,
I connected to a mobile hotspot and it had no effect on the sound quality.
Thanks, Brian
