X is launching a TV app, but not on Roku (so far)

X has started rolling out a TV app. It is currently available on Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV, and LG TV (WebOS). The linked article makes no mention of Roku at all. Remember that Roku is only responsible for The Roku Channel. It's up to developers and services to write apps for Roku devices.

As mentioned, it is up to Elon to write the app, not Roku. But, he's too distracted with politics right now.

    Hi, MarthaMyDear6

    Welcome to the Roku Community.

Thank you for expressing your interest in adding the X app to the Roku platform. We think this is a fantastic idea!

To move forward, please reach out to X directly and let them know you would like their app available on Roku. Most channels on Roku are developed and designed by their respective providers.

We look forward to this and feel free to let us know if you have further concerns or inquries.

    Happy Streaming! ğŸ’œ

    Best wishes,
    Kash

  • Funny how that works. If I want to watch X TV, and it's not available on Roku, I have leave the entire Roku environment. I might find that Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, etc, are not exclusive to Roku, and I might not come back.

  • I reallllly want this app.   I’m now a Premium user on X and want to use all of their products when available.   Love having #FreeSpeech !

As noted before, this is 100% up to X. Roku cannot force them to create an app. Plus, Elon is a bit busy right now...

WHY doesn't ROKU reach out to X and get that added to your line up?
