Let's see if this will work for you.- Update the channel
Highlight the app > Press the star (*) button on your Roku remote > Check for update - Clear cache and data
From the Roku home screen, navigate to Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Network connection reset. Choose "Reset connection" and then restart your Roku device. - Restart your Roku device/TV

How long between pause and return? Long enough for the screen saver? Long enough for the (optional) automatic power savings to happen? Do other apps behave differently? Just some ideas.
