    Hi, georgerchess.

    Greetings from the Roku Community.

We appreciate you letting us know about the issues you've encountered of being unable to access the Apple TV app on your Roku. We'd be happy to share further information about this.

You can add the Apple TV channel to your compatible Roku streaming player or Roku TV using the steps below:

    1. Press Home on your Roku remote
    2. Scroll and select Streaming Channels to open the Channel Store
    3. Select Search Channels
    4. Begin entering Apple TV. Search results will narrow as you type.
      • Note: If Apple TV does not appear, it may not be supported on your Roku device.
    5. When you see the channel, use the directional pad on your Roku remote to highlight Apple TV
    6. Press OK to view details
    7. Select Add Channel

Once installed, the Apple TV channel will appear in the list of channels under Home on the main screen of your Roku device. If you prefer, the channel can be moved elsewhere in the list.

For reference, you may refer to these support articles dedicated to this:

We hope you find this information helpful.

    Warm regards,
    Carly

  • Hi, Caseygt1946

Thanks for posting, and welcome to the Roku Community.

We appreciate your inquiry regarding the Apple TV app on your Roku device, and we would be glad to assist. We would recommend updating your Roku TV for the Apple TV to be fully supported. Kindly refer to the instructions below:

Follow the instructions below to manually check for software and app updates.

    1. Press Home on your Roku remote
    2. Scroll and select Settings
    3. Select System
    4. Select Software update
    5. Select Check Now to manually check for updates
    • Tip: The System update screen displays the current software and build version, along with the date and time of the latest update.

If there is new software available or there are updates for your apps, then your Roku device will download and install them automatically and once completed, your device will reboot.

We hope this works, and keep us posted on what you find out.

    Best wishes,
    Kash

  • Hi TMcFLY,

    Welcome to the Roku Community!

We are here to help you with your concern about not getting the Apple TV Plus application on your Sharp Roku TV. We would be more than happy to help.

We would like to inform you that Apple TV Plus can be accessed on Roku devices via the Apple TV app. To find Apple TV Plus, simply search for the Apple TV app instead of looking for Apple TV Plus directly. This will allow you to enjoy all the content available on Apple TV Plus through the Apple TV app on your Roku.

We hope you find this information helpful.

    Cheers,
    Riamie

  • Same problem, it’s so frustrating! I have a Roku TCL TV and when searching for the AppleTV+ app the only app that appears is AppleTV screeners (free version for media). Why is the Apple TV+ app not available? I have updated software and tried every suggestion I could find on the internet — but no solution has worked. I’m about done with Roku if it isn’t compatible with one of the top 10 streaming apps.

Same. Have an older Roku but if the Apple screener app is accessible the Apple TV one should be as well. I think it’s just to get people to buy another tv.

        Hi, KaylaHamm

        Welcome to the Roku Community.

We understand your comments on the Apple TV Screener app. As advised in this thread, channel providers are the ones who manage their own apps.

To inquire further about your concern, you can contact Apple Support. Their contact information has been included in my previous post above.

Thank you for your understanding, and let us know if you have further concerns or inquiries.

        The Roku Community Team.

I am in the US.  My TV is an Insignia Roku TV.  It seems that either Apple or Roku decided that certain brands of TVs aren't worth the effort to make them compatible with each other.  IMO that seems to be why we cannot have the Apple TV Plus app anymore.   It's crazy that the Roku TV app store offers the Apple TV Plus Screener then, since one would think they have the same operating system requirements.

Of course, Roku would be more than happy to sell us a new Roku stick so that we can access the app.

But I'm over paying Roku.  My streamer stick (on another TV) burns out batteries at an alarming rate.

It's a shame, because I really like the interface.

Stephf1571 Not understanding your question. Apple TV is available in the Roku channel store. I have it on my Roku devices and it is linked to my iTunes account. If you are not located in the US, it's possible that it's not available in your location. If that's the case, Roku can't do anything about it. Apple controls where their channel is available on Roku devices.

Are you saying you have Apple TV installed but it's not working? What Roku device do you have? Is it a Roku TV or are you using a Roku player connected to your TV? How can something be "fixed" if you don't explain what the problem is?

You mentioned "Apple TV Plus Screeners". That's a completely different channel from Apple TV. It is not provided by Apple, and from the description is only available for use by a specific group of users. It's not the channel you need to access Apple TV.

  • SOLVED!  Not all Roku devices are compatible with Apple TV+.

Model 3700 express is NOT compatible.  (even though it may be "up-to-date)

Model 3920X Premiere IS able to load the AppleTV+ app.

AppleTV tech support was very helpful in determining compatible model numbers.

I dont care which company is responsible for compatibility, now we know what works and can assume the legacy models will not be supported.  My GUESS is, 3700 is not 4k or some other spec compliant vs newer models like the 3920 and Apple wants to showcase that high resolution ability?
