Like many others, I wasn't able to view the new Newsmax+ for the last 2 days after subscribing/paying, searching for a new "plus" app, updating the existing app, looking for a login/subscriber code entry, deleting and re-installing the app, power cycling the Roku, etc. NOTHING worked and it was extremely frustrating and disappointing that Newsmax didn't do a better job of rolling this out and, most importantly - communicating.
Just a little while ago I hit the "*" button and selected "Check for updates" for the *existing* Newsmax Roku app - lo and behold it began updating and when I invoked the app again I got a Login prompt, entered the credentials I used to subscribe and voila! - it worked exactly as I expected 2 days ago.
I must say the new Roku app does seem improved and the look and feel is better - I hope the issue is now resolved for everyone and we can now just get back to enjoying what is probably still the best news source available (now that it is actually "available"). Next on my wish list: a commercial-free paid version (I for one would pay $20+ a month for this).
I can confirm that it is working. I told Newsmax the problem on social media and they realized they had not way for us to sign in. So they fixed it and patched it to Roku.
Sign on being Sticky is Not Fixed effective 12.2.23.

I signed up for newsmax plus for a year (49.99). The app worked after updating for 2 days. After 2 days the newsmax app says I am signed out. I am unable to view anything in the newsmax app. Anybody know what to do or having the same problem?
I am having the same problem I paid for a year I cannot watch Newsmax. What are we supposed to do about this? We cannot get a refund and we really need to have Newsmax so my husband can see what’s going on in the Middle East where his granddaughter is deployed I have tried calling Newsmax and leaving several messages. They don’t get back to me either and you can’t call Roku. What are we supposed to do?
Call Roku 816-272-8106 and cancel your yearly subscription with them. Then go to newsmaxplus.com and sign up on their website. Take that email and password to sign in on the Roku app. That is what I had to do. What a pain this has been for a lot of people.
FYI ours did too , signed up Monday was found to be logged out Wednesday , had to log back in
A possible Solution for Newsmax plus login not being sticky is being
tested and working so far for me. In options to login will be shown
selections to login using your email for usual Roku login or to use
a different email. So select the option to use a different email
but then enter the email used for your Newsmax plus subscription
and fill in the password associate with your Newsmax plus subscription.
So far for the brief time of testing I have done this makes the login
sticky. It is not prompting for login after closing the app and/or
returning to the Home menu thumbnails and using another app
like Amazon Prime, not prompting for another login. If it does
prompt for another login I am hopeful it will return to the option
to login using the default email login for Roku, and again choose
the use a different email to get the saved password for the
alternate email. In my case it is the same email as for Roku.
but of course the Newsmax plus app password is different.
I am hopeful this is the fix for the non-sticky password issue.
Confirming that the update is available. Select the NewsMax logo button
and then the asterisk button for options and then select the check for updates
and install the update and bingo you should get Version 5 Build 1 if same
as mine. When you are updated and then open the NewsMax app you
will be prompted for your credentials used when you subscribed and
after entering them your NewsMax app button will open to NewsMax Plus.
Customer service called me to say the update had been activated today.
It works fine so far.
I had deleted and then reinstalled the app. This did not help. Somewhere I read that an option was available to automatically have all apps updated. I did not find this. Updating the Roku system app might also update all apps... I found that this newmax app needed to be manually updated and I suppose that they fixed this the other day as you say. So now I have Newsmax Plus. What a terrible rollout.
It took 2 days to get Newmax+ working on Roku. Now the problem is every morning we need to login to Newmax+. What a pain. When are they going to fix it so the logon remains like all other apps in Roku. Very frustrating.
Bug Report is confirmed for the NewsMax plus app that times out a login
and requires the password to again be manually tediously entered to reopen.
Customer service has been notified but so far no response. When a fix is
released it will likely require another update and yet another manually
entered password. Whatever IT person has provided roll out for the
NewsMax plus should be fired because the roll out is a disaster.
People worry about premature reliance on artificial intelligence
and excessive automation, not as concern caused by any aversion
to technology that is actual progress or a genuine improvement.
People recognize absence of quality for technology that is faulty.
And this Bug Report is a perfect example how master minds can
get it wrong what is advertised as an upgrade but is buggy trash
that lets everyone know they are the beta tester who was never
told they volunteered to be a guinea pig in a science experiment.
It is very frustrating to keep logging in! I can't change channel and go back to Newsmax+. I hope this gets fixed!
- I am subscribed to newsmax+ why do i have to log in everytime i want to watch it...I should be able to stay logged in.

You need to contact Newsmax and work with them. They provide the app for Roku devices, not Roku.
We still cannot sign in using our Roku account info, even though it asks us if we want to sign in using that when we get booted out of the app and need to sign back in. We are also still having issues with being signed out of the app on our Roku devices and needing to sign back in. When I contacted Roku support just now, I was told it's an ongoing issue with the Newsmax app that Newsmax is working on, and I'd have to call them for more info because it's not a Roku issue, no matter if you signed up on Newsmax or through Roku. 😞
Since we subscribed to Newsmax+ we have not been able to watch the news there. Newsmax always tells me it is logged out. I have no clue how to log it back in, since I paid the annual dues for newsmax I have basically wasted $50. Newsmax tells me since I subscribed to them through Roku I have to deal with Roku to get it fixed. How do I deal with Roku when there is nobody to talk to? No customer service reps? What is going on??????

I have tried the steps above and it is asking for me to subscribe.... again. I was able to access yesterday but not today. I can access on my phone though. What gives?
I had the same issue - after closing and going back to the app it said "you have been logged out" and I couldn't login (and got subscription prompts) until I: 1) logged out (despite it saying I was logged out); 2) logging back in with my subscription credentials.
THIS IS A TERRIBLE APP!!! I've almost wrecked several times having to turn off captions every time I go in and out of the app or pause the program....it DOESN'T save the setting. Next, ALLLLLLL that space on my phone screen and they put this little tiny "X" in the corner that you try to touch over and over while avoiding a head on collision. Next, you can't play this app while having other apps open, like YouTube, Rumble, Fox, etc. You can't rotate/flip the screen. Next, this app is SLOW when opening. And every stinkin freakin time a new show starts at the top of the hour, it just spins and spins and spins and spins and spins!!!! It's NOT the connection on both our new Galaxy S23 Ultra's.... EVERY other app on our (5G UC/all bars/excellent service) phones opens super fast... it ONLY on this pathetically designed app. Whoever designed it needs to be fired and common sense inserted into revamping this **bleep**!!! I refuse to pay, and disputed the first month. Newsmax does not, and will not receive one penny from me until they fix it!!!! Just resign up with one of my other email addresses. Once they stop using another email, I'll go back full time to Fox. Heck, I'll even give my money to CNN (cartoon news network) or MSNBC before I pay a penny to Newsmax over their shi itty app. F U Newsmax... OK take a deep breath I saw briefly a lot of swearing and yeah I understand completely I was there there is a few networks that have not signed up to allow Newsmax that’s first of all you have to find out if you’re streaming allows Newsmax. That’s number one if it does you’re gonna go to newsmaxplus.com you do not go anywhere else but there on your phone to pay for the $50 for the year. Now next you’re going to wait till you get your receipt on your email because you’re giving them an email and a password when you set up the account now once you got confirmation that they have your pay you can go into newsmaxplus.com app but it’s brand new it’s been updated so if you have the Newsmax app you have the first update that app or just get rid of it and reintroduced another one but I would suggest you don’t do that because you paid off of that app. So just go in to Newsmax app and refresh it reprogram it whatever it’s called you go into the app or if you have Roku you go into Roku and refresh or update all your apps it has choices to do that once you’ve done that you will get the Newsmax Plus on your app that’s existing because you paid for it and it picked that up through your email account. Now you can use Pluto also and you could bring up Newsmax plus they’ll give you a plain Newsmax app you don’t want that one that was free all the time and there’s Newsmax Plus that’s the one you want so you bring that up on Pluto And you save it in your favorites so when you open up Pluto it’ll pop up automatically if you have any questions write me back I will find a way to get back to you and answer any of those questions but do what I told you. we cannot get on Newsmax Plus on our computers, we just got on TV but took all morning
I still can't get on or even subscribe. It asks me my ROKU password which I input; then an error message window pops up saying the pass word is wrong.
The APP IS NOT FIXED effective today 12.2.23
User has to login Everytime UNLESS you JUST logged Off.
Please Fix it.
So the "new" Newsmax is a pay for view, correct? And the free Newsmax live (Newsmax2) is only available on Roku Live, correct?
