Universal Monster Live TV adjusted the time schedule straight 10 hours

To whom it may concern,

My wife and I are grateful that Roku has dedicated a Live TV channel to the Universal Monster classics. We were beside ourselves with excitement when we discovered the channel last October, and each week since, we have repeatedly watched our favorite movies religiously, shunning other forms of entertainment and blocking out hours each week to watch the five Abbott & Costello movies, Dracula, Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, and so on. Though we own these films on physical media, we specifically enjoy looking forward to watching them on a predictable programming schedule.

However, at the beginning of October this year, the Universal Monsters channel schedule was lamentably adjusted. Not only did the updated schedule include a new sequence of banal 21st century horror movies, but it also includes a mind-numbingly repetitive daily stream of episodes of The Munsters that plays for nearly ten straight hours from the early afternoon through the prime time slots and past midnight. This has simultaneously upset our viewing routine and scheduled our very favorite films during the small hours of the night when all decent folk are asleep. The uninspired horror films of the new millennium are an unfortunate addition to the schedule, but will there ever be an end to the brutally relentless onslaught of The Munsters episodes?

Exasperatedly yours,

Jos. Morrison

  • I agree! I was so happy a couple of weeks ago they suspended the daily munsters marathon and i could watch GOOD CLASSIC monster movies when i got hone from work in the evening... and tonight  much to my disappointment,  they brought the daily munsters marathons back... i will not be watching as much... again...very disappointed

  • Good day all,

After one glorious month, The Munsters are back. As with all things Universal of late, why leave a good thing unspoiled?

Not that it will help, but I've located the contact information for the person in charge of content at Universal. She may be contacted below. Please be polite.

    Rgds,

  • Holy cow

I was searching for something totally different and this came up!

I even logged in and ended up typing this twice!!!!  Just to say, who is the lazy programmer who has ruined this channel with Munsters.  Its insane.  Also, try doing something other than running every movie in alphabetical order over and over.    I know....  two complaints, but WOW, come on

There are at least 10 complaints about the Munsters on Universal Monster Channel on just this Roku forum alone. There doesn’t appear to be a direct way to contact the programmers for the channel as it streams on Prime Video, Pluto, Freevee, and Roku. There are multiple complaints all over the internet and on social media. But yet we still have 6 hours plus of Munsters to contend with every evening. It should have only been the month of October.

I am still not watching Universal Monsters (which means I am not watching Roku) because I cannot watch every episode of the Munsters repeatedly. How can anyone? Watch it one time through and there is literally no new content. At least with the previous content/lineup you could randomly catch a classic. Disappointed.

  • I agree...the current Munsters programming is both lazy and cheap. There are plenty of classic monster movies available for some creative programming and supporting the channel's original intent. Hopefully, it changes soon. Can't continue to support this rubbish.

  • I absolutely agree that there is far too much Munsters airing on Universal Monsters Channel. We want to see Universal Monsters movies not Universal Munsters. Put the Munsters on during the daytime or give the Munsters their own channel as MGM did for Addams Family. Most of us work during the day and look forward to watching our classic Universal Monster films in the evening. The only time I can watch my favorite movies now is on the weekends or if I wake up at 2:00 am.  The Munsters has had its run..put it on either for a few hours during the day or from 2am to 7am or put it on another channel entirely.

I'm in Australia. The Munsters air from 9am to 5pm daily here then they play the classic monster movies all evening so no complaints this side of the world.

I think that schefule would work freat here, leave the munsters for the kids who stay home from school... here in the usathey aire the munsters from 5pm til about 2am... so i get honevfrom work and not 1vsingle classic movie to watch... i hate it!!

  • I feel exactly the same way and is why I sought a forum to express myself. I thought it might be for Halloween and would have ended by now. I haven’t watched since the munsters marathons began. I want old school monsters just like the ones you mentioned in your post. Stop playing the munsters and go back to regular programming. I miss Abbott and Costello at a predictable pace.

Please stop ruining a wonderful channel with all this Munsters nonsense day after day, week after week.  It wasn't that funny back in the day!

Thank you. Its far too much. "The Munsters" should be on during the day. I come honevfrom work at 5pm, exactly when you start your ridiculous munsters marathon. Not a classic monster movie to be found til 2am, which surprisingly i am asleep. The current schedule is really bad

Please stop with the back to back to back to back,,,,,,, episodes of the Munsters. There were only 70 episodes produced so they've been played ad nauseum.

I miss having a classic monster movie to watch in the evenings. Please end this.

Roku is not responsible for the content. That is up to Universal. The channel is just like cable, where they just pass through what is given to them.

It is also available on Pluto TV.
