If you have an active subscription through Roku you won't be able to remote the app. You can manage your subscriptions that are through Roku at https://my.roku.com .

If by "free subscriptions" you mean a free trial that will charge you the regular rate when the trial ends...
BEFORE THE FREE TRIAL EXPIRES -- Highlight the channel in the channel grid, press the * key on your remote, click on Manage Subcriptions, and cancel automatic payments (I don't have a subscription through Roku to check the exact wording). If you don't do this before you are first charged, you'll have to wait until the pre-paid period ends in order to remove the channel.
