Thank you!  My faith in humanity is restored with your comment proving that there are a few of us out there who are sane!  Love the "Saylor Twitt" reference!

  • Go to Settings/Theme/Sponsored Wallpaper and turn it OFF. You can do the same with Seasonal wallpapers.

Unfortunately that only changes the wallpaper, but doesn't get rid of the giant ad on the home page which is the most insidious aspect of this.

The fact that you currently can't even use the asterisk to replace it with another ad is a disgusting overreach on their part. Has me about ready to return my TV to a dumb TV.

Should add it may be under Settings/Wallpapers & Screensavers on some devices. Roku seems to be randomly testing that.

As suggested above turn off any themed and season wallpapers in the settings. If you do this you can set your wallpaper and it will never change on you unless you manually change it yourself.

Turning off "Sponsored Wallaper"  did not eliminate the Taylor Swift ad for me.

The ad is just a standard ad. It appears actual wallpaper/theme was promoting her on those who did not disable sponsored wallpapers. Disney is probably paying a lot for this.

  • I agree.  I don't want to look at Taylor Swift with her mouth hanging open.  It's gross.  I finally had to tape some paper over that side of the t.v.  so I don't have to look at her gaping her mouth open.

  • Indeed, obnoxious.

Here’s how I turned it off on my Roku:

    A) Go to wallpapers and screensavers

    B) Scroll way down to advanced settings, sponsored wallpapers.

    C) Scroll way down to advanced settings, sponsored wallpapers.

    D) Click on sponsored wallpapers and select “off“

It wouldn't let me select 'advanced on the left side but in the row of 6 blocks  from left to right, I could select advance and click to turn it off.  Thanks

  • ironic - the ad is just like Taylor Swift - they both just won't go away.

Seriously Roku, please give us a * option to disable ads we don't want to see over & over & over again.

  • Hahaha for sure!! I don't want to see her on there either!! Maybe if there was a house full of elementary kids watching but that's what Disney is for.

  • I agree. I can not find a contact number to ask them to take it down. I pay for the product, and they force things down your throat.

Thank you for taking the time to voice your opinion.  Your comment "they force things down your throat" is the BEST analogy anyone can mention when it comes to all things "Taylor Swift".  And for that I thank you!

      Stay well!

  • What is so creepy about it?  Some skinny blonde singer who happens to be pretty popular.

I don't appreciate nor want a "flash-in-the-pan entertainer" who caters to a pubescent audience shoved down my throat whenever I turn on a service for which I pay. "Pretty popular" is a matter of debatable opinion.
