TCL Roku TV intermittent audio issues on any apps after an update

TCL Roku TV has sound on the menu, but none in any app, not even Roku TV, unless I unplug the TV. Then I'll get sound for the first app I launch, but must unplug the TV to get sound from any other app. Yes audio settings are fine. 

The Roku Stream Stick in the bedroom starts up, the ROKU letters bounce, and then it powers itself down. It takes exactly three reboots to stay on.
