ausca, for the first issue, try turning on "volume leveling". Press * while you're watching a video and look for "Volume mode".
It's not clear what you're saying for the second issue, but if you're asking how to get sound out of the TV while headphones are connected, many TVs don't allow this. From the TCL website:

Also need info on whether a special Y headphone connector is required for a TCL Roku 32".
My Y connector works with my Sennheiser headphones but have to remove the Y connector to get the TV volume to work. Cannot switch from one to the other using the remote.Advise, Bill
