Streaming interrupted with Black Screen

We are streaming a program and just before it ends, the screen will go black, tv still on, just a black screen and no sound.  We have to go back to home screen and select the program we were watching and by that time, the show is over.  This has been happening for the last week or so but for some reason does not affect movies???  I have been reading a few others with the same problem.  Hope it's not a hardware problem!!!!!.....that only means a new TV!!!

Yes, maam,!!! I'm having the same issue!! So is my daughter and granddaughter, Ive been online, on the phone, with reps, unplugging, restarting, rebooting, changing batteries and in the meantime I can't watch 25 minutes of my shows. This is annoying and no one should be experiencing this with what I paid for this TV!! I need to know how they can help me. Haven't tried to restart TV from new because I may not remember some passwords. THIS IS CRAZY!!!

I want to know what happens when you factory reset and why would you need to do this and how many times will you need to, I have a Samsung for over 15 years and never had these kinds of problems.

      Thanks for askingStella61,

Just a heads up, A factory reset can erase most of the data from your Roku device and restore it to its original settings. If your Roku device is not responding even after trying to restart and fix your network, you might want to do a factory reset. You do not need to factory reset the TV, as it functions properly.

I think if they (manufacturer) can't solve the problem we should be given a refund!!! Take the old one back and sell it as refurbished!!!! Because I Purchased mine brand new!!
And I registered mine, they know the serial and model numbers,

After you rest you lose data but is your TV still registered or you start all over again as if you just purchased it??

Don’t worry, this is happening to me too, and my tv is over 5 yrs old!  I’m sure this is a software issue and the Roku people will always tell you to restart, or take more extreme measures.  Just wait; I’m sure it will be fixed after the next software update.  I just wish they would leave well enough alone and stop making things worse.
