"The Live TV Channel Guide is getting an upgrade, with personalized ordering of 400+ channels, as well as the removal of channel numbers to enable simpler browsing."

Removing the channel numbers is not a good idea!
I use those numbers to quickly surf and access the channels.
My next TV will not be a Roku.

Very bad idea to remove the channel numbers. This makes it more difficult for the consumer to navigate. It appears the decision makers think it's a bright idea.
Good Bye Roku!

I agree! Roku just insulted us his customers; by removing the streaming channels numbers. It wasn’t enough that their ridiculous remotes don’t have numbers NOW THE ACTUAL CHANNEL NUMBERS ARE MISSING!!! Wtf??
Please bring them back and PROGRAM a POP UP SQUARE WITH NUMBERS IN IT TO APPEAR ON THE TV so e can quickly type the channel number we want to go!!!
How hard if that?? Not at all!and As we don’t want to buy a voice remote that will data mine our voices that’s Abusive and intrusive of our privacy!!

Get a $20 Amazon Firestick remote. You can use it with a Roku tv, and it shows channel numbers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C1W5N87

Simpler browsing? I can't even begin to read what the logos say. Goodbye Roku channel, plenty of others to watch.
- jrbentley5172 years agoChannel Surfer
I totally agree!

I don't know what's worse , can't read the logos, up close have to take glasses of to read remote, with numbers you knew where to go. I could careless about all the categories, that's why you have channel surfing to watch what you want. Categories with programs, never do this on anything, this is just not friendly.

Removing the channel numbers and having a disorganized channel list that is non-functional to say the least is not an "upgrade"...
This needs to be rolled back and not messed with by kids who just want to change stuff...

This morning all my channel numbers came back. Thank you Roku for listening to your customers

I agree. When I turn TV on I want to watch a program not browse logos for channels. I browse the Internet not my TV.
And to duane_o I get it, I don't need ten answers telling me that... I got it on first message!

RokuTV needs to fix this channel showing problem!

How is this making 'simpler browsing' when it takes you longer to find the channel you want. Was this tested at all to see what customer's wanted? Just curious.

One of the categories listed on the left side of channel guide is 'all channels'. For this to be true, all channels available should be listed there. They are not. Why? Make it contain ALL CHANNELS. Just keep it simple.
In the 'all channels' listing how are the programs listed? Not by number, the most obvious, so alphabetically or what?
Scroll through the 'all channels' category and you automatically begin to scroll through the other categories. That doesn't make sense. I want to look at 'all channels' not another category.
What is the reason for the 'recommended' category? Just let me scroll through the channels so that I can find what I want.
Then there are sub categories as to the type of program - reality, game show, crime, etc. Why are not all of these channels listed in the all channel category? If you have ALL channels listed in the 'all channels' category there is no need for the sub categories. Just keep it simple.
I have seen replies that all of these concerns are being looked at and are appreciated. To really show that these are appreciated, show your customers and return the channel guide back to like it was.
Thank you.

Another concerned view of Roku TV.
I understand that these changes are a test at this stage. I am curious as to what the thinking was behind the idea to remove channel numbers from the listing. Also, how was it decided the order to list the channels?
Also, why are not all channels listed in the 'all channels' lineup? There are some sub-categories listed by genre in the listing. Curious, again, as to why 'all channels' does not include all the channels available.
Not sure about other customers but I like to scroll down the listing and see what program is on and decide what to watch.

Thank you for your response to my concerns.First of all, I checked a few of the channels on the sub categories again to see if they are listed on the 'all channels' listing. I finally found them. With all the sub categories in the listing it took a while to find some of them.Another question, how was it determined the order to list the channels in the all channels listing? I can't seem to figure that out. It goes from news to weather to sports to kids to movies to mysteries to food then to game shows to reality to comedy to DYI to hallmark. And then music and Spanish stations mixed in. To me that is very confusing.Your reasoning is that the idea of personalizing the experience and being able to look at sub-categories is more important than the ease of finding what we want to watch? Just an idea - add sub categories like music stations, news and weather stations, Spanish language stations, game shows, kids, comedy and the like. Then have at the end of those categories list all the rest of the channels. For the customers that stick with certain kinds of shows that would work for them. Some of us know more what we don't want to watch and want to scroll down the rest of the channels and pick something out.I hope this makes some sense to you.

What is really aggravating is not being able to quickly to my Over the Air broadcast channels quickly enough. I get lost in the literally thousands of useless streaming channels when all I want to do is watch the "game" on the local channel 5.

BAD IDEA TO REMOVE CHANNEL NUMBERS!!!!
- sorejc1002 years agoNewbie
This does not make for simpler browsing because the numbers help identify which category one by the grouping of the numbers is in as will as one well as aiding to get to the right number. Certainly when the menu is in the All Channels category it is difficult to know the direction to move to find the desired channel. This is a bad mistake.
