    So, to answer my own question, the CEC-less adapter fixed the problem.

If you google (or look on Amazon) for an HDMI CEC less adapter you’ll find plenty come up. Mine was BlueRigger brand.

Thank you! I had the same problem and the BlueRigger HDMI CEC less adapter solved the problem. Everything now working as expected.

    I have the same problem as you described before and ordered the HDMI CEC less from Amazon. Should I use the adapter on the HDMI/ARC port (tv to soundbar) or the HDMI port that connects from tv to Roku?

      hi - just did this. hook it up to the stick, then plug into hdmi. works great for me. good luck !
