Sound but no picture on every channel

This has just begun today I last streamed a show two days ago. Now no matter what channel I choose, I can enter, and see what is available, but when I choose one to stream, I only get sound, no picture. Is there something wrong at Roku? No power outages. Everything else works. WRF?

  • I’ve been having same issue with the roku I bought last February. If you unplug it and plug back in, it will work until it doesn’t. It doesn’t happen a lot but it does happen

This keeps happening to me, too. Have gone through lo-o-o-o-ong sessions to resolve. I get it only to have the problem back the next time I turn the tv on. I'm using a "simple Roku streaming stick" on a Supersonic tv.

Roku: there is clearly a lot of us with this problem. PLEASE fix it & email us if there's still more to do without having to troubleshoot it every time we turn the tv on!

  • Solved but no idea how. I did not actually unplug anything, but put my hand behind the tv and just touched all the wires, making sure everything was plugged in. Then decided to try again, and voila! Picture appeared with sound, now working on all channels. Didn’t reconnect anything, just touched wires. Any thoughts?

      Hi autumnstorm,

      Thank you for the update!

We’re pleased to hear that your issue has been resolved.

In this instance, loose wiring at the back of your television may have caused the issue. This loose connection could prevent the channel from displaying any picture, resulting in a blank screen. Ensuring that all cables are securely connected might help prevent this issue in the future.

Thank you for your cooperation. Please let us know if there's anything else you would like to address.

      Cheers,
      The Roku Community Team

Brendaeric55, we need more information.  Do you have a Roku TV or a Roku device connected to a TV?  Have you tried the reset button or simply unplugged the power for several seconds?
