Sinovison Channel no longer working

The Sinovision channel comes up black when I try to watch it and it's been like this for at least a week now. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

  • Hi, hyan777.

Thanks for reaching out and for letting us know about the playback issues happening inside the Sinovision TV app on your Roku. We'd be happy to help you contact the right support for this.

It seems like you've already exhausted all the possible troubleshooting steps to no avail. In cases like this, we highly recommend coordinating this with the channel provider themselves as they manage and maintain their app inside the Roku streaming platform independently.

You may reach them here: Sinovision TV Support

We hope this will be sorted out soon and we appreciate you bearing with us in the meantime.

    Best regards,
    Carly

  • I'm having the same issue.  But here's the twist:  I also have a rooftop antenna and can usually watch Sinovision over-the-air.  THAT channel has just disappeared.  I've tried re-scanning, but still nothing.  My mother-in-law tells me she heard on a Chinese radio station that the Chinese government is somehow blocking the transmission.  Sounds conspiracy-theory-ish to me, but It's been a couple of weeks now (September 2024), and still no sign of the channel on-line, on Roku, nor over-the-air.  I've tested at multiple homes in northern NJ with the same results.  Anyone with any insights, please post!

Good to know I'm not the only one with this problem. I tried emailing win@sinovision-tech.com about this issue a week ago on the 9/18 and have not received a response from them. I'm not sure if that is the right email and also don't know if they care to respond to me. Wouldn't they be more inclined to reply if Roku staff emailed them instead?

        Hi, NoSalt hyan777.

        Greetings from the Roku Community.

Thanks for reaching out here. We'd be happy to share further information regarding this case.

As posted above, it would be highly recommended to directly coordinate this with the service provider for further information about how they operate their app on the Roku streaming platform and whether they have removed their Live TV channel via OTA.

Kindly refer to the information above to help you contact them.

        Warm regards,
        Carly

  • It sounds like there might be an issue with the Sinovision channel itself. Try removing the channel by going to Home > Channel options > Remove channel, then restart your Roku. After restarting, reinstall the channel from the Channel Store. If that doesn't work, it could be an issue on their end, so keeping an eye out for updates or contacting the channel's support might help.

Thanks for you response. I already did all that, removing the channel and restarting Roku. Where can I contact the channel's support?
