1) Configure passthrough: Settings/Audio/Digital output format = Passthrough
2) Disable Sound Modes: During playback - Options (*)/Sound Settings/Customize sound modes/Volume Leveling & Dialog Enhancement = Off
3) Disable power savings: Settings/System/Power/Auto power savings = Off (unchecked)
4) If/when it still happens: Instead of rebooting/restart, temporarily change Digital output format = Auto (scroll menus for a few seconds), then back to Passthrough (Temporarily enabling then disabling Sound Modes during playback also works most of the time).
NOTE: Ads (breaks/insertions during playback) may/can/will cause audio dropouts for some apps/services - complain to Roku/service provider CS and do # 4.
Thx for responding. I don’t have a passthrough option and I don’t have a power savings option. Let me know if there is some other names for those. And will these fix the green line issue as well?
That means you have an older Ultra model without a Dolby decoder (e.g. 4660/4670).
Make sure you dont have any Sound Modes enabled (you didn't mention whether you checked this).
For the video issue(s) you can try manually configuring the Display type (dont use Auto) and disabling Auto-adjust display refresh rate (if enabled), or changing HDR subsampling (you didnt mention the brand/model of the display device).
You should also try temporarily swapping the HDMI cable/HDMI input port on the display device.
However, if the "green line" is only on a specific app (YTTV), you'll need to contact YTTV CS.
Otherwise you'll need to contact Roku CS about the audio dropouts, which are often caused by ads/ad insertions (FYI, this is a longstanding issue affecting every RokuOS version/device going back a decade, so don't expect this to be fixed - reduced at times, but never eliminated).
I have a 4660x. Sound mode is auto. Green line issue shows up on Roku menu screen as well. Everything works fine after I unplug and replug power to Roku Ultra. I have a 2017 Sony XBR 900E TV and an Onkyo TX-NR6050 receiver.
Sound/Volume Modes settings are only available during playback:
During playback: Options (*)/Volume Mode = Off
If alternate HDMI cables/ports and directly connecting to the TV (at least temporarily) dont resolve the "green line" issue, and other devices connected to your TV/AVR using the same HDMI cables/ports dont exhibit this behavior, then your final option is try a Factory Reset (Roku CS will insist you do this, and it should also update to 14.1.4 build 7780)
If your 4660 hasnt already upgraded to 14.1.4 build 7780 then you might wait to see if it resolves the issue(s) (or do the Factory Reset which should force it), otherwise contact Roku CS directly and report the issue.
Otherwise it (green lines) may be a hardware failure, and considering the age of the device, you would be well served upgrading to a newer far-more-capable model.
