Roku Ultra - Continuous High Pitched Noise

I never had any issues with my Roku Ultra model 4670x until a couple of days ago we noticed the humming noise. A really annoying sound that had me disconnect my surround speakers and it was still there playing through the factory tv speakers. I changed the HDMI cable from my Roku to the tv and the noise was still there. Finally, I took a roku (older & cheaper model) and the annoying sound was finally gone. It was only then that I discovered this forum and it appears to be a widespread problem. Does anyone know if there are settings that can be changed to fix the device? It was expensive and I would hate to just trash it.

    We're glad to assist you with your problem with your Roku Ultra. We'd like to know more about it so we can further assist you. Kindly provide us with more details.

    • Is this happening on all contents or channels, or is this isolated to one content or channel?
    • Are you getting any error messages or error codes on the screen while playing content?
    • What software version is your Roku Ultra running? (You can check this on Settings > System > About)

    In the meantime, kindly restart the system of your Roku Ultra and see if it fixes the issue by going to Settings > System > Power > System restart (if you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step).
